Rabbi Sherwin T. Wine
1928-2007
Rabbi Sherwin T. Wine, founder of Humanistic Judaism,
was killed in an automobile accident on
Saturday, July 21, 2007, while on vacation in Essaouira, Morocco.
Rabbi Wine was leader, guide, mentor, teacher,
colleague and friend to the many people whose lives he touched. The
Society is deeply saddened by the loss of this inspirational visionary.
We offer our heartfelt sympathy to his family and to all who loved him.

Wine has suggested that contributions in his memory be directed to
support the Secular Humanistic Jewish Movement he established.
The Society has established the Sherwin Wine Development Fund to support
the growth of Humanistic Jewish communities. Donations
